LCA Arbitration Rules 2011

The LCA Arbitration Rules were passed by the board of the LCA on the 1st of March, 2011 to assist in the effective resolution of disputes and for the proper and expeditious conduct of arbitral proceedings.

The LCA Arbitration Rules contain a vital provision (based on amendments in June 2013) for the appointment of a Special Measures Arbitrator in cases where parties need urgent and/ or special measures prior to the constitution of an Arbitral Tribunal.

These Rules govern both institutional and ad hoc proceedings. The Rules of the LCA are of international standard as it is an adaptation of the LCIA and the United National Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Rules of Arbitration.

The Arbitration Rules are available for use by parties, whether or not members of the LCA. They are available for download on the LCA website.
